"The Happy Poem"

Here's an untitled poem written recently by my sister, Ashleigh. This is one of her rare and lovely "happy poems". The poem is special and beautiful. I hope you like it too. My sister wrote this in the span of 10 of our minutes.

I do not know what happens
to our days-
I think they're stored
like precious photos
in an album of sun rays

The nights are just too dark
to be there too-
They are locked
inside a vault
at the center of the moon

Sometimes I hope to peer
upon those moments
removed from right
or wrong
and this feeling
of aloneness

just to look
without a judgement
to see
what they all saw

the stars
that wink sometimes
the clouds
that hold the fog

it's a confidential file
it's guarded
with your life
it can't be fooled
it won't be tricked
it can't be bled
with sharpest knife

but when they come
and when they say
"you can look now
you are strong"
you'll want to cry
you'll need to scream
but instead
you'll sing a song

you'll sing
"I'm not sorry
I'm not hurt
I see pain
For what it's worth
I'm just happy
I'm so glad
I needed nothing,
I did not have."
