Teachings of the Butterfly

I have come to the conclusion in my life that it is imperative for me to love myself if I want to go over the rainbow to my dreams, you know where bluebirds fly, and to the undiscovered lands of my own imagination. At first as I began to pay attention to my thoughts and to find ways I could add more self love to my life, I was shocked to listen to the inner stream of negativity that flowed through my mind about myself, toxic waters. For me most of my self loathing centered around my body. I would look in the mirror and locate immediately what is wrong with the picture instead of what is perfect with the picture, beautiful, and right. I tell you I excelled at that, everyday, habitually, I would look in the mirror with disgust about certain areas of my bodily landscape. That had to cease if I wanted to learn the magic of the butterflies, fly with the bluebirds, and go over rainbows. Those thoughts were literally weighing me down in swamps of miasma, negativity, and keeping me from my dreams. As I began to accept my body where it is, and to declare in positive ways how I want my body to be, my body like the journey of the miraculous catapiller began to transform, and it did it in a cocoon that must be woven of only love. That's the magic of the butterfly, the love. Loving ourselves into who we want to be. The catapillar must dream about its wings as it crawls wingless on the earth. In the dark, cocooned, the catapiller must see the butterfly it's to become. The butterfly is free, the journey it has made is incredulous, but we must concede to the magic present in life. By the law of the butterfly nature supports us to transform into anything we want and shows us a way.

The invitation of the catapiller is to notice your thoughts about yourself as you walk this earth. Do you love yourself? Do you think kind thoughts about yourself? Do you see how beautiful you are? Everyday love yourself more and more. Find things to love about you. The universe can give you an infinite list if you need to be reminded of how many ways you're perfect and loved.

The invitation of the cocoon is to rest, imagine, and believe in the world that brings you joy, the dreams of your heart, and become your dreams within your mind. Live them, and one day seemingly like magic to others, but you know the process that everyday in that cocoon you awakened and lived your dream until you were one with it, and became it like a butterfly manifesting. Take time to dream. Take time to believe in your dreams and feed them with love. Take time to see evidence of your dreams in the world everyday, even if at first your dream is dark and shadowed and obscured, keep looking for it everyday, and know that the light will become brighter each day until one day your dreams emerge.

The invitation of the butterfly is to simply be free to be you in all your infinite glory, and to know that you're loved by all the energy there is in the universe, always, and forever more.
