Hands of Powerful Wisdom

Our hands are powerful tools and connections to creating the world of our dreams. They are an extension of our hearts, and a way we can touch our life and world with love. This is a meditation ceremony to activate our hands and lives with more love, consciousness, and to discover our divine mission through the vessel of our hands.

The Hands: A Meditation

Find a peaceful place where you can meditate and travel within. Begin by taking a few deep full body breaths. Breathing into your feet, your hands, and your head. Breathing to your whole body.... Next imagine pulling breath up from your feet and down through your head to your heart, holding your breath there in your heart a few moments, and then exhaling that breath out your hands and finger tips. Practice breathing in this way.... Soon your heart and hands should be warm with more energy and life force, and you will be ready for this spiritual journey.

Your body begins to sink into the earth, and you lift off from your body, and travel upward. You're soon greeted by your spirit. Your spirit points out a beautiful meadow that stretches out beneath you both. You notice in this meadow of rainbow colors that two circles, one within the other, has been carved into the land. Your spirit guides you to the smaller inner circle, and gives you seven flowers of different colors that will be used in this ceremony. You place the flowers in the inner circle with you. The circles and the place are filled with beauty, warmth, and magic, and you feel very peaceful and loved here. Your spirit explains the ceremony that will take place. The spirits of each of the directions, the earth & the sun, and the source of all of life are honoring you today with gifts and blessings for your hands. Each is so pleased that you have made this journey of heart and spirit, and that you want to connect with yourself through your hands more deeply.

Your spirit guides you to pick up the white flower and face in the direction of the north. As you look north, a gossamer of snowy white delicateness extends slowly and envelops the whole area in a glistening wonderland. A couple radiating gentle kindness, more of the spirit than the physical world, emerges from the billows of white majesty being born from the north. They are the spirits of the north. In their beings a sense of the north and all that it holds can be felt. Within them is where dreams are conceived. It is a place of stillness, meditation, and wisdom. They represent the breath, air, and the winds of change, and a part of the whole cycle of things, winter. They arrive and take their northern place in the outer circle, and you offer your white flower to them in honor of their journey to you. The flower is accepted with great love and dissolves instantly into both of their hearts. They open your hands, and you prepare for their blessing by closing your eyes. Your body fills with the sounds of the most beautiful and angelic music being sung by the couple of the north, carried on the lips of the air, and bringing bliss and great peace to your being....As you listen to this divine music, a white light floods your body and hands with healing energy.... Enjoy this lightness of being and healing.... When your body is healed and cleared of negative energies, the couple of the north inlay with beautiful artistry the palms of your hands with white crystals, these crystals become a part of your hands, one with your bones. When your hands are complete with the crystals, the couple of the north whisper a blessing over your hands and to you. A way you can use these crystals in your life... With your hands in a prayer position in front of your heart, you return to the inner circle to meditate on their blessing, their gift, and to feel the power of the crystals in your hands.... In a flash, the couple of the north and the whiteness over the land vanishes into the horizon of the north. A single white blossoming flower remains in the spot where they had stood in the outer circle.



When you're ready, pick up a yellow flower, and face in the direction of the east. As you look east, a golden yellow glow glitters across the land. Out of this warm, fiery womb of creativity and inspiration that can be felt pulsing through the atmosphere, the couple of the direction of the east appear on the distant horizon, and head towards you and the sacred circles. They reach the outer circle and smile benevolently at you, kind fires glow in their eyes, and you offer the yellow flower to them for the journey they have made to you. The couple hold the flower in their hands, the flower becomes a beautiful flame, and disappears as they place the flame over their hearts where it becomes one with them. The couple greets you lovingly and asks to see your hands. You feel very safe, warm, and loved in their presence. They hold your hands open in theirs, and soon a fiery sensation is felt in the palms of your hands. They speak to you together, "This fire in your palms is of the east, of spring, and new beginnings. It brings warmth, love, and renewed life to everything it touches." The couple of the east fold your palms together, and whisper a blessing to you, how you can use this sacred fire in your life.... When you have received the blessing, with gratitude for the gifts and teachings of the east, you return to the sacred inner circle and meditate on the fire activated in your hands... When you open your eyes again, notice the yellow flower that now blossoms in the outer circle where once the couple of the east stood.

When you're ready, your spirit guides you to face south, and gives you a red flower to hold in your hands. As you look south, the land begins to take on shades of the colors of red. A feeling of calmness and natural flow exudes through you. The couple of the south emerge from the sparkling horizon of richness, their presence is a soothing elixir to your being. The couple of the south are beings of the heart, healing waters, and the flow of all of life. Their season is summer. In their eyes you see ripeness, joy, beauty, and love as they approach the outer circle. You offer them the red flower, which perks up in their presence, becomes a liquid in their hands, which they playfully drop like the rain into each others hearts. They both giggle whole heartily, pleased with your gift and that you are here with them. They invite you to open your hands to them. Closing your eyes, you feel your hands and palms become containers that harness the power of water.... It is like you could make rain drops fall from your finger tips... You also experience that your palms can take on the temperatures of water too, becoming cool and hot, and other temperatures.... Your hands feel like they could heal many things with their gentle magic.... The couple of the south enjoy the discoveries you're making having water flow in your hands and palms. They whisper blessings to you about ways you can use the water in your hands to enrich your life....When they have finished, you thank them for their gift, and return to the inner circle to meditate on this experience... When you open your eyes, the couple of the south have vanished, but the red flower now grows in the spot they stood.

You're spirit guides you to face west and hands you a flower the color of deep black. As you look west, a cover of darkness slowly seeps over the land. It is the retreat of fall into the earth. It is the healing darkness found in the cave of the heart. It is the miracle darkness found in the womb of the mother. It is the restorative power of darkness and night. The couple of the west soon appear on the horizon, and it feels like things have come full circle. There is a feeling of release, holding of space for you and all you dream, and well being all captured in the presence of the couple of the west. You feel very safe and grateful for this turning inward that the couple of the west inspires in you. The release of all that is no longer needed. The couple of the west are very serene and an inner light and love shines deeply within them. You offer to them the gift of the black flower, they are very appreciative, and they place the flower in their hearts. At their request, you show them your hands. You watch as they sprinkle grains of earth sand that manifests right from their finger tips to your palms. This earth dissolves right into your hands, and you can feel it tingling in your palms and fingers... The couple of the west speak, "The earth in your hands is to remind you of the cycles of nature. To remind you to release your burdens to us when the season's call to do so. To remind you to come find the new dreams that await you, that are found in the dark, rich soil of life." The couple of the west then whisper to you ways that you can use the earth in your hands..... Grateful for their wisdom and gifts, you return to the inner circle, and meditate on the meanings of this gift for you....When you open your eyes, a black flower of great beauty blooms where the couple of the west once stood.

Your spirit gives you two flowers, one green flower and one golden with purple. Your spirit explains the green flower will be a gift for the spirit of mother earth and the golden flower with purple is a gift for the spirit of the father sun. Both will visit you together. As you stand in the inner circle, light plays of green, gold, and purple begin interacting in the space between the circles. The weaving of colors and light is magical to behold. There is a dynamic love of creativity, inspiration, and upliftment at play. Two beings can be seen dancing together in this enchantment of color. Their relationship to each other is mesmerizing. It feels ideal, infused with so much love, and timelessness. You feel honored to be witness to this love and connected to this love. The couple feel your love towards them and respond. The mother earth appears on your right side, and you offer her the green flower. She smiles with the joy of the universe in her eyes and places the flower in her heart. The father sun is on your left side, and you give him the golden flower with purple, he with kind spirit places it in his heart. The couple extend their hands to you. As you hold hands, very different pulls begin to happen in your body. One pull towards the earth, and one towards the sun. You hear the voices of the couple in your head. They ask you to practice pulling up energy from the earth with your hands and releasing them to the sun. Then to practice drawing energy from the sun and giving it to the earth. You begin to feel how your hands can become a conscious conduit for the energy between the earth and the sun.... How their romance can flow through you and heal you and others....How you can give or release energy with your hands.... The couple soon release your hands, and you continue to practice the flow of this divine romance through your hands and body....When you have finished practicing, you open your eyes, and see the green, gold and purple flowers growing all around the perimeter of the inner circle where the couple once danced. You take a few moments to absorb the beauty of the flowers, meditate on the energies flowing through your hands, and the experience you just had with the spirits of the earth and sun...

The last flower of the ceremony is the color of rose. It is the color to symbolize the love of the universe and the source of all that animates life. Your spirit invites you to pick up the rose flower and experience the source of life. A great love fills the land as you hold this flower. Every good feeling that you have ever had or imagined comes to the surface. A feeling of happiness and well being pervade the rose lit air. A great light is seen in the distance above. You close your eyes and extend the rose flower to the presence that is beyond the capacities of words to describe. Your flower offering is taken from your hands in the gentlest, kindest, loving manner imaginable, and your hands are parted to expose your palms. Living stars are placed in each hand, and your palms are closed back together in prayer position... You hear the words, "All the power, magic, beauty, and creativity of the universe is now activated in your hands. Create, create with love." The presence holds your hands cupped in theirs, and a great rose light infuses your hands in divine love. You hear a message about how you can use these stars of love and great light in your life.... With a heart full of gratitude you meditate on this gift that has just been given....Your spirit gently calls your name and you open your eyes. It is time to return to your body. You face each of the directions, your own spirit, and the life of it all and give thanks. As you're leaving the ceremonial site, you take one last look down at the circles and flowers. A great rose flower now grows where you once stood. You radiate love as you, your spirit, and new hands return back to your body.

Take some time to return to your body, to meditate on all your experiences in the ceremony, and to play with the gifts that now live in your hands and body.

The High Road

On one chaotic stormy day I found myself trying to find peace of mind. Fear and doubt were creeping in to my mind in a steady stream of forces. I was pulling out all of my life tools to find a way out of the muck. I was praying for help and guidance. I was diligently monitoring every thought and transforming negative thoughts to positive ones. I was doing everything I could to make myself feel better, but my energy level was so depleted that day, it was a challenge just to maintain status quo or much less dream about things that bring me joy. However, I was committed to getting out of the clutches of this self made and energy draining vortex.


When a friend mentioned going to Rocky National Park with another friend, I said lets go. I knew that being outside in nature and with friends on their own soul journey could only alleviate my mood and uplift me. Our goal was the top of one of the mountain peaks. We got as high as we could on that winter of a day. On the air, and as clear as a bell, on the side of that mountain, with a raven flying high above, I heard, "Dedicate yourself to taking the high road." Simple words that alter the course and direction of life. We took the high road back home. A road full of hope, miracles, magic, creativity, beauty, love, joy, inspiration, and all things good. The whole universe conspires to make you feel better on this road. What helped me most that day when I decided to dedicate myself to the high road was that the internal struggle ended. The path was clear, were taking the high route, there's no energy for other life draining lessons. A light appeared, and a way out of the darkness. It is true the high road travels in all directions, but on the high road you can trust even when you're covered in soot and the future looks bleak, that relief is coming, that your life will only get better and better, because you're committed to making your self feel better. You're on the high road, alive, conscious, and making choices, moment to moment, that enrich and uplift you.

What does it mean to be dedicated to the high road? First, you must trust with all your heart that every situation is going to work out for the best. It will work out for the best because when you're dedicated to taking the high road you are always choosing the best solution. You are choosing positively all the time. Choices that are going to make you feel better. Second, you must go in the direction the high road flows. The high road is our divine path. Everything that we want or dream of is nourishment for our heart & soul and can be found on the path of the high road. Look for what you want to see happen. Then find miracles. Find love. Find inspiration. Find happiness. Find hope. Find beauty. Find joy. Find yourself on the high road smiling, through the tears, or no matter what is temporarily happening in this life that is always changing. Know that the change happening is going to be good and for your betterment. Remember the high road is expansive, and only gets better and better. Lastly, and most importantly, is to follow the wisdom of your heart. The high road is nourished by the heart & always leads back to new levels of heart, healing, and discovery. Trust the wants and desires of your heart, follow them until you find a solution that tickles your heart and makes it happy. Know that your heart's desire is on its way to you right now. Be open to the magic of the high road.

On the high road there's no room for doubt. You must believe in yourself. You must love yourself. You must trust yourself. You must want to create the world of your heart, your dreams, and your soul, but be flexible and adaptable enough to know that dreams are always changing and new desires are always being born. You must dedicate yourself to being happy. See you on the high roads!

Awakening the Nose: A Meditation

The nose. Our sense of smell. A filter. A way to breathe. A way to touch & understand. A way to raise our vibrations and activate more love in our bodies & our life.

Awakening the Nose: A Meditation

Create a comfortable space for yourself to meditate. Begin to take a few deep, full body breaths. Bring your attention to your nose and imagine a smell that is pleasing to you. Let that smell fill your nose and whole body with goodness and love. Take a few more deep breaths down into your feet. With each deep breath, feel your body begin to sink into the earth, as you lift off from your body, and head toward the north.

As you travel north over all kinds of terrain, you soon spot a white wolf waiting in the distance on a snowy precipice for your arrival. White Wolf by her presence communicates to you that she is your teacher and friend, and will guide you on your journey into this wilderness. A journey to awaken your sense of smell, and to bring more love into your body and life. You follow White Wolf as she turns and trots north into the forest. After a while you smell the hints of a fire. Soon there is a clearing, and a small, round cabin can be seen nestled into the natural winter environment.

A grandmother with hair as white as White Wolf's stands joyfully on her porch, exuding love and wisdom, and greets you both. Grandmother is honored and pleased that you have made this spiritual journey. You're welcomed to this very special place and invited inside Grandmother's home. White Wolf quickly settles herself happily outside preferring the brisk outdoor air, but you know that she will continue to be with you inside and throughout this journey.

Grandmother's home smells sweet and of the earth. It feels warm, safe, and nurturing on many deep levels. You notice that Grandmother has herbs drying from her ceiling, and many containers filled with earth medicines of all kinds. You sit in one of the chairs that Grandmother offers. It is a chair for taking medicine journeys; It feels very comfortable and relaxing. Grandmother begins mixing some herbs and liquids that will awaken your nose and sense of smell. Soon the medicine is ready and she brings it over to you.

Grandmother explains that you will be going on a spirit journey to awaken your sense of smell. You will always be safe and White Wolf will be there too. Grandmother encourages you to play, learn, and have fun on the journey. You will know it's time to return when you hear her call you back with her flute. On your next breath, you inhale the aromas of the medicine Grandmother has prepared. Breathe the medicines as deeply as you can into your nose and whole body.

One of the first things you notice is that you have become the body of a wolf. You are running with a pack of wolves and White Wolf is by your side. The second thing you notice is that your sense of smell is exceptional. You can smell and appreciate the subtlest of things in the air. The earth smells so good. You take deep breaths and inhale these earth scents into your nose and body... Your body opens to these scents... The scents heal your body on essential levels and your whole being feels uplifted. You play with the wolf pack... Smelling deeply their scents... After a while, White Wolf moves to the edge of the pack and motions for you to follow. White Wolf speaks to you with her mind. She invites you to feel how these good smells activate your body with life force. You take several deep breaths until you feel a white tingle of love in your nose... That white tingle trickles to your whole body... You enjoy the feelings in your nose and body... You take a mental picture of this moment: You and White Wolf, your new sense of smell, the healing, the wolves, the land, and your feelings presently. It is a magical day and moment. Ever so gently, the sound of flute is heard floating on the air, you remember Grandmother, and the next moment you find yourself back in her home, smiling.

The smells of Grandmother's home are even richer and more beautiful than before. You express your gratitude to her for the medicines and the journey. Before you leave, Grandmother asks you to continue to awaken your body and life with the power of scents. She asks you to remember to smell the earth with your new wolf nose, and to allow the smells to bring you to new levels of awareness and consciousness. You are asked to practice smelling the goodness of life's scents throughout your day. Grandmother is very pleased how positively you have activated your sense of smell. As you prepare to leave, Grandmother whispers a gift into your ear, a piece of guidance and wisdom only for you... You give her a big hug before stepping outside. White wolf greets you with a new twinkle of magic in her eyes and guides you back to the precipice where you first met. White Wolf also has a gift for you. You close your eyes and link minds with her like you did when you were a wolf. She says, " I am White Wolf and your friend, call on me when ever you like, I will be by your side. When you let the scents of the world fill you with love and well being, I'll know you are well, on the right path, and that is one of the greatest gifts you can give me. We are friends, dear One, forever." With a heart full of gratitude for White Wolf, Grandmother, and this spiritual journey and awakening of your sense of smell, begin to head back to your body. Take a few breaths back in your body... Wiggle your toes and fingers. Smell with your new nose.

A few invitations of ways to use scents to awaken:

Each day breathe deeply and find smells in the natural world that please you. Remember the ways that smells and scents can heal you. Use them to keep yourself uplifted and happy. The nose is one of many tools to bring healing and higher vibrations into our life. When we are healthy, happy, joyful, and uplifted we foster more of the same continuously in our lives.

Use essential oils or scents that bring you pleasure and joy. Keep them with you or near-by. When you're feeling down or want a pick me up, place a few drops of the scent on your hands, rub them together, and then inhale the beautiful scent to your whole body. Feel your cells, your mind, your thoughts, lift.

Practice consciously smelling a few times a day. Really smell your meals, outside, inside, your favorite scents. Invite the smells and the love into your nose, your body, and your life.

The mantra of the nose: I'm going to smell and appreciate the scents of the world. I'm going to allow them to heal and uplift me.
